Automaker Stellantis agreed a five-year collaboration with Microsoft to accelerate its digital transformation through the joint development of AI, cybersecurity and cloud capabilities. The companies aim to develop more than 100 initiatives spanning customer care, product development and operations, including AI product validation, predictive maintenance and faster deployment of digital features. Stellantis will deploy an AI global cyber-defence centre spanning IT systems, connected vehicles, manufacturing sites and digital products. It stated the unified approach would enable faster threat detection, consistent protection of connected services and stronger resilience across global operations. To underpin the collaboration, the automaker is migrating its infrastructure to Microsoft Azure, targeting a 60 per cent reduction in its data centre footprint by 2029. On the workforce side, all Stellantis employees now have access to Copilot Chat, with an initial rollout of 20,000 Microsoft 365 Copilot licenses supporting select roles. Ned Curic, Stellantis chief engineering and technology officer, said the company is an early adopter of AI across engineering, manufacturing and design, and noted the Microsoft collaboration would “accelerate our AI momentum across the enterprise”. Financial details of the deal are not available. The post Stellantis, Microsoft ink five-year AI, cloud deal appeared first on Mobile World Live .
