What is an IP Address?
An IP (Internet Protocol) address is a unique numerical identifier assigned to every device connected to the internet. It serves two main purposes: identifying the host/network interface and providing the location of the device in the network. There are two versions: IPv4 (e.g., 192.168.1.1) using 32-bit addresses and IPv6 (e.g., 2001:0db8::1) using 128-bit addresses. Your public IP is assigned by your ISP and is visible to websites you visit. A private IP is used within your local network.
