Siemens continued to push its credentials in the US by detailing work to provide tailored automation and financial control systems to canned beverage supplier DrinkPAK. The work covered one of DrinkPAK’s facilities located in the US state of Texas, one of two sites it currently operates in the nation, with a third due to open in 2027. Siemens provided systems covering energy infrastructure, automated guided vehicles and recipe-based production to provide consistent beverage quality. It also offered financial systems which DrinkPAK chief strategy officer Brian Aster said contributed key elements to the company’s growth. The collaboration helped DrinkPAK scale quickly “while investing in energy-efficient automation”, Aster explained. Chris Stevens, president of Siemens Digital Industries, said the task proves innovation can only be delivered when the “right technologies” are brought together to tackle business challenges. The DrinkPAK job “unites advanced automation, intelligent infrastructure and flexible financing”, he explained. Siemens’ is perhaps also keen to talk up successes in the US and North America as it seeks to expand its business in the region. It is working to pump funds into electrical infrastructure and manufacturing capabilities to capture growing AI data centre opportunities, while also eyeing the US and Canada as growth markets for its private 5G capabilities.
